2021 Ravine Meritage

A blend of 56% Cabernet Franc and 44% Merlot (both organically farmed from our estate), this wine offers a lot of depth and ageability. Spending 19 months in French oak, this wine is of classic Bordeaux essence. Barrel selections were made from the 2 varietals to create an elegant, food focused red wine. With very careful consideration in regards to pick times, skin contact and oak selection, we were able to showcase and highlight the elegant fruit nuances. Because 2021 was such a challenging year, our goal was to ensure we had a complete and well-rounded wine. We let the fruit hold on for as long as we could until the weather turned. The Cabernet Franc in this blend contributes good concentration, colour and flavour while the Merlot provides a good amount of tension and red fruit.
