2017 Cabernet Franc

Our 2017 Cab Franc is bright garnet hue. It is showing aromas of violet, cranberry relish, and fresh thyme leaves. It is a softer version of the variety. Tannins here are more of a subtlety then aggressive and grippy. This wine finishes with a lingering berry flavour.

Winemaker’s Note: The fruit from our Cabernet Franc comes from growers in Niagara-on-the-Lake along with grapes from our very own estate. Each appellation in the region has a distinct version of this variety. In St. Davids, warmer summers play a role in promoting ripeness and developing complexity in our Cabernet Franc.
Food Pairing: This wine is a great match for lamb chops marinated in rosemary and garlic. It would also be at home with a nice piece of old cheddar.
