2015 Sauvignon Blanc

This Sauvignon Blanc is a style Winemaker Martin Werner learned from New Zealand while working at Cloudy Bay Winery on the island; it is the country’s flagship wine varietal. This style captures the freshness of the Sauvignon Blanc grape as well as the techniques used to build texture on the palate. The techniques we use include ageing the wine in 225L French oak barrels made up of 10% new wood and 90% neutral wood as well as leaving the wine on its lees for the majority of its lifespan fermenting. The ‘lees’ efers to the grape seeds, pulp, stems, skins, and tartrates that separate from the juice during stages of wine making and fermenting. Our 2014 Ravine Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is the successor to our 2013 Sauvignon Blanc, which was awarded GOLD in the renowned 2015 Decanter World Wine Awards.
