2014 Reserve Cabernet Franc
The fruit from our Cabernet Franc comes from growers in the Niagara Peninsula along with grapes from our very own estate. The fruit remained on its skins for 27 days and was punched down two times every day. Each appellation in the region has a distinct version of this variety. In St. Davids, warmer summers play a role in promoting ripeness with a distinct rosemary note in our Cabernet Franc wines. This wine aged in 225L oak barriques made up of about 35% new wood.
This is a true expression of what we think Cabernet Franc can be in the NIagara Peninsula and more specifically the St Davids Bench.
